Billboard Review "Free"/ Critica ao album "Free"

Kate Ryan's third album Alive was her first to feature no cover versions, and was an admirable step forward in her development as a pop singer. However it was a commercial flop, so it is with a sense of crushing inevitability that her fourth studio effort features three covers of classic French pop hits; "Ella Elle L'a" by France Gall, "Voyage Voyage" by Desireless, and "Toute Premièr Fois" by Jeanne Mas. As with her earlier Mylène Farmer covers they're rather well-done updates, "Voyage Voyage" in particular is a fantastic re-imagining of an underrated classic, but their presence still represents a disappointing failure of nerve on the part of Ryan's team. Not that it matters. Preceding the album's release, "Voyage Voyage" and "Ella Elle L'a" became massive hits, her most successful releases since the aforementioned Mylène Farmer covers in most countries. While Ryan's sound has regressed, thankfully her quality control has not. "Free" is another consistently strong effort. It only once hits the heights of the best tracks from Alive, on the minimal, brooding "L.I.L.Y. (Like I Love You)," but it is a strong collection of Europop with much less filler than her first two records. "I Surrender" and "Tonight We Ride" are high-gloss disco tracks which should extend her run of hits beyond the cover versions, and Eurogames 2007 theme tune "We All Belong" is a punchy electro number. Best of all though, surprisingly, is closing ballad "Free." Ryan's songwriting abilities have been increasingly sidelined by her quest for hits, but the entirely self-composed "Free" is a revelation. A majestic, string-laden ballad with soul-searching lyrics and hands down the best vocal performance of her career, it's both a great closer and a frustrating glimpse at what she could be capable of if she played things a little less safe. ~ John Paul Lucas, All Music Guide

Kate Ryan Drunk / Kate Ryan bebâda ?

A estrela belga Kate Ryan, que esteve recentemente na Polónia num award show onde arrecadou um prémio e actuou, não teve melhor maneira de acabar a noite, do que a ser arrastada pelos seus amigos musicos.
Kate encontra-se neste momento em 1º lugar em Espanha por 3 semanas consecutivas , já tem o seu hit single Ella Elle L'a disco de ouro em vários países e o seu album Free já vendeu 150,000 cópias , faltando apenas 100,000 para ultrupassar "Different" o album de estreia da cantora.

P.S: Toda a gente tem direito a se divertir , é o que penso , independetemente de ser uma diva e cantora, o que acham, comentem !

Belgian Star Kate Ryan, who has been recently in Poland in a award show where she whon one and performed , had a better way to end that night by being walked to the hotel by her musician friends.
Kate is now number 1 in Spain for 3 weeks, and her hit "Ella Elle L'a" has the golden status in many conutries. Her new album Free has sold now more than 150,000 copies , if it sells another 100,000 it will be a greater success than her debut album "Different".

I surrender , novo single 14/08/08

I surrender será o novo single e 4º do album Free. Conta com uma nova versão e com um videoclipe . Esta nova versão é um remix feito por quem está por trás do projecto de tektronic TekTek.
Entretanto Ella Elle L'a prepara-se para atingir territorios como França e Portugal , e há possiveis rumores de uma versão inglesa a ser lançada no Reino Unido , Estados Unidos e Canada.
Nesta semana a canção encontra-se nº 15 na Europa, 1 em Espanha, 2 na Holanda, desceu para 16ª posição na Suécia e na Bélgica , e encontra-se na 29 na Dinamarca.

I Surrender will be the new and 4th single from the album Free. It has been made a new version and a new video for the song. This new version is a remix made by the same guy who is behind the tektronic project TekTek.
Meanwhile Ella Elle L'a is ready to hit the french and portuguese territories and there are also rumors that will be made an english version to be released in the UK, USA and Canada.
This week the song has peaked #15 in Europe, still number 1 in Spain, 2# in the Netherlands, went down in Sweden to number 16 after 13 weeks in top 10 , down to 16 in Belgium and also peaking 29# in Denmark.

Ella Elle L'a Bigger than Désenchanteé?

It's a fact that everyone remembers that Desenchanteé was the biggest summer hit in 2002/ 2003. Kate Ryan's new song is now a massive hit and it is said that the song is also going to hit the big market countries. Is is said that France will see a re-release of Voyage Voyage and then Ella Elle L'a , the 1st song with no promotion peaked 20 in the french I tunes. Perhaps the UK and the United States, Canada and Australia will get a release soon.
Yesterday the song peaked number 1 in Spain and went gold , it is also the most downloaded digitally and in ringtones. It has also peaked 24# on the Euro 200 chart and also entered the Danish charts at no. 29.
